About and Donate

Welcome to Eight Years In (And Still Learning), a blog all about veganism and striving to live a more ethical life. This is a place for vegans and the vegan-curious to explore the how behind a lifestyle of compassion and action, not just the why.

Eight years after first going vegan, I decided it was time to share what I’ve learned with all of you about being vegan, because it’s a lot. And yet, even all these years later, I can’t pretend that I’m perfect at it. Nobody can be. We’re all still learning. That’s something to be accepted and celebrated, which is something that we do here. Still learning means we can always improve, and we don’t need to feel a sense of smug superiority over people who haven’t taken all the steps we have.

And it applies to veganism as much as it does anything else. This site is meant to be a safe space, for people who truly want to learn how to make more ethical choices in their life. A place where they can ask questions and be honest about what they need to grow and improve. A place that’s about life and all the challenges and dilemmas it brings, not death or weird ostracism.

Veganism holds a special place in my heart, not just because it’s a philosophy of compassion, but because it was the first lifestyle change that I made after the realization that I could be doing a lot more for the world beyond myself. And that’s what this site is about. The changes we can make, for the good of the world beyond ourselves.

Behind the Blog

I’m Rebekah, the face behind the blog and behind MissBekah Productions. I first went vegan in March of 2013, and there’s been no looking back ever since. I’ve gone through years of birthdays, holidays, road trips and weekday lunches as a vegan, and it’s been a great time. Going vegan has helped me live in accordance with my personal values, as well as improve my own physical health. And that’s why I want to share my tips and perspective with you.

In my spare time, I love to create. I write for another website called The Thoughts that Bind, which talks about wellness and mental mastery, which you can find here, if you’re interested. I also make fiercely introspective music. You can listen to my songs on Soundcloud or Youtube
